Procedure

Every 6 months, duplicate samples of each of the strains are transferred into the appropriate culture medium.

  • Culture transfer:

Under a laminar flow hood, a sterile flask is filled with the appropriate culture medium.
Approximately 1 ml of initial culture is then transferred into into the new flask using a sterile Pasteur pipette.

  • Development phase:

The cultures are placed in a growth room at 20°C, with 16h/8h alternating light/dark for about 2 weeks.

  • Conservation phase:

Once the culture has produced enough biomass, it is transferred to a growth room at 7°C, with 12h/12h alternating light/dark.
